| My college ambassador role got me a job at Instagram. The resume that got me hired at Instagram had my Liquid Death Ambassador role on it. This is proof that what you do in college counts as experience. If Instagram is willing to see a college ambassador role as real experience, I'm sure the job you're applying to also is. | | | | I was almost a Kardashian social media manager. | My Take A master's straight out of college is usually just delaying unemployment and getting deeper into debt. Of all the marketing roles I applied to (1,500+), even the ones paying over six figures almost never asked for a master's. |

Almost nobody has the job they want yet. Last week I DMed about 50 people I went to college with. Half from the class of 2025, half from 2026. I asked them about their job hunt. Almost everyone got back to me, they were honest about their job hunt journey. Around 1 in 10 actually had a job they liked. The same three myths kept coming up: | I think campus jobs don't count so | | I'll just get a master's and figure it out after | | I can't apply unless I match the years of experience. | | That's the warning. Waiting is the plan for most people, and "if something comes to me, it comes to me" is not a real plan. The people applying more NOW are getting better at it, and when the interview for the dream job shows up, they'll be ready. |
